Sharon Wandel
Sharon Wandel's interest in artistic expression is diverse and incorporates her love of both poetry and nature. It is logical then, that her works have been described as “both metaphorical and realistic.”
Sharon’s unique style displays a high level of artistry which is beautifully suited to her chosen medium: bronze sculpture. Her work has received many national and international awards. The many honors include a Merit Scholarship from the Art Students League, election to the National Academy of Design, prizes from the National Academy and the National Sculpture Society, a grant from the Chaim Gross Foundation and a full Fellowship to the Vermont Studio Center. Awards and opportunities to show in Japan, resulting in study of that language and culture, combined with her Scandinavian heritage, are reflected in the hand-worked simplicity of her many unique pieces of bronze sculpture.
