Catherine Ocalewski
Catherine Ann Tigner Duffield is a sculptor, designer, landscape architect, and craftswoman. She believes that her sculptures are truly fulfilled when complimented with landscape design.
While growing up, Catherine watched Osprey hatch in the Long Island Sound rookieries. Enamored by the loving ineration among the birds, she kept that moment with her while learning to sculpt metal 20 years ago. Every sculpture she has created has had the theme of flight. She believes it is because her father was a pilot.
Catherine has exhibited throughout the United Stasts in a series of outdoor sculpture gardens. Her innovative creation “Phoenix” made almost entirely out of antique silverware, exhibited in the Lockwood Matthews Mansion for much of 2005. She exhibits annually with the Society for Connecticut Sculptors, Kathleen Lolliwarde Wolfe in Gramercy Park, New Haven City-Wide Open-Studios, Westport Nature Center, and Naples Art Galleries on 5th Avenue.
Catherine currently maintains two studios, one on the Connecticut shoreline and one in Naples, Florida in which she is expanding upon her ideas and creations.
